There’s plenty of newspaper share tips to get your teeth into this morning. The Independent has advised investors to hold Arm Holdings, avoid Provident Financial, and buy Games Workshop shares. The Telegraph has stepped in with advice to buy Reckitt benckiser shares while the Times suggests avoiding Misys and Halfords, and holding Croda shares for the long term.
Arm Holdings has seen its share prices go from strength to strength recently and is a strong company. The Telegraph believes that a dip in their share price would be temporary so buy if any dip is seen otherwise hold.
With nearly half of their clients receiving benefits, Provident Financial may suffer badly from the proposed government cuts so avoid these shares suggests the Independent, who have also recommended buying Games Workshop stock; the company has proven to be resilient and its miniatures virtually recession proof.
Reckitt Benckiser is still in the market for more acquisitions and with no debt to speak of, as well as the potential to generate very good levels of cash, the Telegraph recommends buying stock.
Misys share prices are high at 17 times next year’s earnings and even though the company will rid itself of all debt through the sale of Allscripts the Times does not believe there is any further progress in the shares.
Dividends for Croda have risen 50% but the Times believes that prices are about fair at the moment so suggests the cosmetic chemical manufacturer is a decent long term hold but nothing more. Finally, the Times has also offered a similar hands off warning regarding Halfords. The purchase of Autocentres has yet to inject faith into the market so hold off for now.
