Definition: Bear Market
Any extended period of generally falling prices in a stock market normally defined as a bear market. When stocks or commodities are falling in price across the stockmarket for an extended period of time - charcterised also by temporary price rise reversals, (stock market rallies), then the market is generally described as a bear market.
